Our Story
The Session House, located at 111 north king st Honolulu, was built by locals, for creators cultivating a grass-roots spirit and true local, collaborative space. It's a creative sanctuary bringing like-minded artists together and reserved for creators harnessing genuine connection and positive energy.
Anchored in the raw, authentic pulse of Chinatown, this 3rd-floor studio sits above one of the neighborhood's most traditional architectural facades. This 1960's landmark building is easily identified by the iconic Chinese red dragon pillars at street level. The Session House offers a unique creative escape high above the vibrant energy in the heart of Chinatown adjacent to Honolulu's Arts District.

The Session House was built to keep creative space accessible, inspiring, and completely hassle-free. Unlike traditional studios that charge extra for every microphone, instrument, or amplifier, the competitive flat-rate pricing covers full access to the entire in-house instrument collection—so you can plug in and play without ever being nickel-and-dimed.

Studio A: Live Band Room
A versatile, plug-and-play rehearsal hub built for collaborative creation. Fully stocked with acoustic and bongo drums, premium cymbal selection, full guitar array (electric, acoustic, and bass), 3 amps, two mic stands, 5 mics and handheld percussion—ideal for core 5-piece setups or larger sessions using your own instruments suited for up to 8 people. | $25/hr DIY
Studio B: Digital Music Studio
Digital Music Recording: Purpose-built for artists and engineers alike. Powered by a 4-channel mixing console, keyboard, dedicated video and studio monitors, and flexible DAW Windows/MAC workstation interface (optional) routing to handle every phase of your project.
DIY | $45/hr or Assisted with Recording Engineer | $55/hr
Studio C: Podcast Hub
A versatile studio space designed for multi-guest shows, panel discussions, and interviews. Comfortably hosts up to 8 guests with full audio engineer setup, two dedicated interview microphones, and eight lapel mics for crystal-clear capture. Booking includes full access to our adjacent breakout lounge to relax and recharge between takes. $55/hr (Includes Setup by Audio Engineer)
Studio D: Saturday Drum Circle Experience
Drum Circle & Sound Bath Experience: $20/pp (Instructor led) for 90m session is an immersive sound-release and relaxation gathering session for anyone including beginners to participate. Saturdays from 6pm-8pm.

First 10 mins: Welcome tea, grounding, and picking a drum/percussion tool.

50 mins: Instructor-led polyrhythms, call-and-response drumming, and group jam.

EVENTS
Booking & Reservation Policy
In order to maintain safety and security for all artists and guests agree to the following guidelines: The Session House is for active music participants only. No drugs, alcohol, smoking, or hangouts/parties are permitted anywhere on the premises. Backpacks, instrument cases and bags must be kept in the greenroom space. On-site security cameras are active in all studio spaces and common areas. A dedicated Studio Manager is available during all booked sessions.Reservation holders assume full financial liability for any damage to equipment, gear, or facilities resulting from negligence or misuse during their session. All participants and visitors automatically waive any liability while on the premises to include, but not limited to personal injury or personal property loss at any time while at the space.
Standard Amenities
The Green Room & Snack Lounge
A comfortable common lounge to stretch out, connect with fellow artists, and recharge between takes. Snacks and cold beverages are available for purchase.
Parking
We recommend parking at the following locations:
918 Smith St., Honolulu: Daytime $0.75 per 30 minutes for the first 2 hours, then $1.50 per 30 minutes. Evening Flat Rate (After 5:00 PM): $3.00 flat rate (5:00 PM – 12:00 AM).
1016 Maunakea Street, Honolulu: Daytime $0.50 – $0.75 per 30 minutes.Evenings (After 5:00 PM) & Weekends: $3.00 flat rate max.
847 Bethel St., Honolulu: Daytime $0.75 per 30 minutes for the first 2 hours, then $1.50 per 30 minutes. Evening Flat Rate (After 5:00 PM): $3.00 flat rate (5:00 PM – 12:00 AM).
Restrooms
Dedicated Women's and Men's Restrooms are available across the hall on the 3rd floor.
